Schellmann prioritizes functionalism and a piece’s ability to endure the test of time both physically and stylistically. His sofas, benches and shelving units are largely unadorned and instead focused on the formal geometry of the pieces with the occasional bright accent color, clearly evoking the Minimalist and Conceptualist practices of the artists with whom Schellmann has worked.
